About Us

At Progressive Pediatric, we believe every child has the potential to succeed. We offer a safe and nurturing environment that allows children to learn at their own pace. Our mission is to provide a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team approach that evaluates and treats every facet of development in the best interest of your child.

Progressive Pediatric Developmental Center (PPDC) is a non-profit organization incorporated in November 2009. The center was founded on the premise that children need one main location that encompasses progressive education, quality therapies and interventions, and mental health services. The ultimate goal of PPDC is to provide services that cover all aspects of development and support needed by children with disabilities and their families. Projected services will include an early intervention program, a preschool, an academic and social program for students ages 5-22, a vocational training program, all therapies associated with disabilities and rehabilitation, and an array of mental health services.

Presently, PPDC has three main service areas: Therapy, Education, and Mental Health.

Tammy and Girl

About Our Founder

Tammy Smith started Progressive Pediatric Therapy Services after many years of working in the healthcare industry. She went back to school with a dream to work with children. When she decided on becoming a therapist, she wanted a clinic that would provide all therapies under one roof, with a team approach. Her practice in Tallahassee grew into what she had envisioned, a family outreach therapy company with all disciplines that provide new innovative treatment approaches with every child in mind. But, she realized children and families needed more thant just therapy... They needed a developmental center that provided a multidisciplincary, team approach to therapy, education, and mental health issues. And just like that, Progressive Pediatric Developmental Center was created.

Our Philosophy

We, at Progressive Pediatric, believe every child has the potential to succeed. This is why we make every effort to seek out and learn new and innovative types of treatments. As therapists, educators, and counselors it is our job to find the best combination of interventions for each child and their families.

We believe that families are an integral part of therapy and education. We encourage and collaborate with them to make every session the best learning experience possible.

"Thank you for the wonderful work you've done with our son. I always felt like we were someone special and not "just another patient" even if you make all of your families feel that way. PPTS is a very special place because of the way you support the family as well as the child. You have played a major role in helping him achieve his milestones. No words could express how much our family appreciates you. Thank you."
