Mental Health
The Mental Health Department offers individual and family counseling, parent trainings, parent and sibling support groups, individual and group music therapy (including Music Together ®), individual and group art therapy, psychological and psychoeducational assessments, as well as Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) evaluations.
Our program is child- and family-centered, designed to enhance the mental, emotional, and behavioral health of your child. Our philosophy is that this can not be done in isolation: The child will be seen both individually and as part of their family. Another integral part of our treatment is that we offer a team approach to the whole child. This means close collaboration with parents, siblings, teachers, medical doctors and all therapists that are involved with your child. Our treatment will stress helping your child reach their full potential rather than find “a cure”: Many of the children we treat have clinical presentations that differ from the norm, and we emphasize accepting the child and finding their potential rather than stressing their differences.
